It lets a clinician enter probing depths, bleeding and recession without touching a keyboard, a mouse or an assistant's hand.

How the Foot Pedal Works
The unit plugs into a USB port, and no extra charting software is required. The 2.0 can run wired or wireless. Its controls are:
- Toe button: moves the on-screen cursor like a standard mouse.
- Four input buttons: enter charting numbers 1 through 8 and the right click.
- Heel button: performs the left click.
- Audio feedback: repeats each number aloud through speakers or a headset as it is entered, which supports patient education.
Because the device is a fully functional mouse, it also opens and zooms digital x-rays and runs intraoral cameras. It works with Dentrix, EagleSoft, PracticeWorks, Softdent, PerioExec, Open Dental and MacPractice, among others.
